ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Valeria, a certified 200 RYT Hatha Yoga and Chair Yoga instructor with a passion for promoting well-being and vitality through the practice of yoga. With over two decades of personal yoga experience, my journey has evolved into a mission to make the benefits of yoga accessible to everyone, especially those facing physical challenges or difficulties getting onto the traditional yoga mat. My journey in the world of yoga began around 20 years ago, as I sought a path to balance and inner peace in a hectic world. However, it wasn't until 2019 that I discovered the profound impact of Chair Yoga. Recognizing the need for a more inclusive approach, I trained and certified as a Chair Yoga instructor to help those who struggle with conventional yoga poses due to physical limitations. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 presented a unique set of challenges. With in-person gatherings restricted, I decided to take my passion for yoga online. Thus, the V-Yoga Studio was born, serving the vibrant community of Toronto and beyond through Zoom sessions. I believe that yoga is not just a physical practice but also a means to connect and find solace in challenging times. Online yoga became a lifeline for me, allowing me to maintain a sense of unity with my students. In my virtual studio, I offer Chair Yoga sessions twice a week, specifically tailored to seniors who wish to improve their flexibility, strength, and overall well-being. My very first student and client was none other than my mother, who, at the age of 78, practices with me almost every class, often behind the camera, reminding me of the power of family bonds and shared experiences. I am not a perfect instructor. My English may not be flawless, and I may not possess the extreme flexibility showcased by some yoga enthusiasts. However, I firmly believe that yoga is not about perfection; it's about accepting yourself and others as you are and creating space within both your body and mind. Yoga is a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance, and I embrace the imperfections that make each of us unique. Beyond yoga, I'm an advocate for an active and balanced lifestyle. I enjoy the art of tango, the thrill of skiing, and the intensity of tennis. I firmly believe that staying young and healthy is a lifelong journey, and movement is the key to achieving this. Online yoga practice offers an excellent way to stay active, regardless of your age or fitness level, making it accessible to anyone, anywhere. In essence, my mission is to empower individuals to embrace wellness through yoga, regardless of their physical abilities or the circumstances life throws at them. Yoga, with its timeless wisdom, has the power to nurture the body and spirit, and I am honored to be a guide on this transformative journey. Thank you for joining me on this path to well-being.
